The city grew up alongside the River Delta. Antioch houses more than 30 parks, a higher number than any other city in the United States.
According to the 2000 census, the city’s population was 100,586 residents. The city is located in the area where Mediterranean climatic conditions exist.
Due to this climate, the winters are generally cool and humid, while the summers are dry and sometimes hot. Winters get colder, while the summers get hotter as one moves inland. Tourists can visit this area at any time during the year.
