The New Hampshire State Capitol, located in the Capitol Square, has the distinction of being the oldest in the nation. The square is adorned with various statues but the most striking is the Memorial Arch erected in honour of the state’s soldiers and sailors.
Visit the Canterbury Shaker Village which depicts the Shaker’s way of life. Shakers are the oldest community in the region and this village recreates their customs, inventions, furniture etc.
The Christa McAuliffe Planetarium boasts of a 92-seat dome-theatre enhanced by wraparound images, which takes you to an unprecedented journey of the space. The Conservation Centre provides for a very educational trip, with exhibits like the one on the many uses of solar energy.
Concord has a very active social circuit with a number of festivals celebrated, especially during August. Some such festivals are the Summer Band Festival and the New Hampshire Folk Festival.
