Stromboli, with its active volcano, is prone to large and violent volcanic eruptions. Tourists from all over the world travel to Stromboli to climb or hike the popular Stromboli Volcano. Local authorities arrange experienced guides, with whose guidance hiking is permitted.
While vacationing in the Stromboli Island, be sure to visit the village of Ginostra, located on the opposite side of the island, which houses the smallest European port. The sister island of Stromboli, Strombolicchio, with its clear waters and a lighthouse is another beautiful location.
Stromboli Island houses a fine black-sand beach, ideal for relaxing, swimming and sailing. It is advised to be extra careful while visiting the island. The island also consists of a small number of restaurants, some of the popular ones being the Pizzeria Osservatorio and Ristorante punta lena.
